Galerie Provenance is proud to introduce fifteen original works by Masahiko Yamamoto specially commissioned for Galerie Provenance House in Bridgehampton. Yamamoto, a contemporary Japanese ceramicist based in the rural mountain village Soni, digs and sources his own clay from across Japan. Using his grandfather’s kerosene kiln, Yamamoto likes to experiment with his firing, sometimes adding grass, charcoal, or firewood, finding joy in the unknown outcome. His work is extremely modern yet rooted in history and has an ethereal quality that is both contemporary, timeless and blends seamlessly with the Galerie Provenance core collection.
